Job Purpose:
The Senior BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing business intelligence solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, designing data models, developing ETL processes, and creating interactive dashboards and reports. Your role is critical in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for stakeholders across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Stakeholder Collaboration and Business Analysis
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Conduct data analysis (including ad-hoc and advanced data mining) to identify trends and patterns that drive business decision-making, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business processes and data flows to deliver accurate business intelligence solutions.
2. Data Engineering, ETL, and Database (DB)
• Design and develop large-scale, efficient, and maintainable data models, data flows, and ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized data warehouse.
• Write efficient and complex SQL/PL-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, transform, and load data, while supporting existing DB objects (Triggers, Jobs).
• Implement, optimize, and tune database structures ensuring scalability, high performance, and data integrity.
3. Reporting and Visualization (BI)
• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools such as QlikView (Nprinting), Power BI, Tableau, or other relevant software.
• Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces to enable seamless data access and analysis for end-users.
• Partner with other IT teams to ensure the integration of BI solutions with other systems and platforms.
4. Data Governance and Quality Control
• Establish and implement data governance methods, standards, and policies to ensure the accuracy, consistency, security, and relevance of data presented in reports.
• Implement data profiling and Quality Assurance (QA) tools to proactively identify and resolve data quality issues.
5. Mentorship and Development
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers and analysts, training them on industry best practices.
• Continuously monitor new industry trends and technologies to propose innovative and competitive business intelligence solutions.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI (Business Intelligence) development.
• Proven experience in designing, optimizing, and managing complex data transformations and workflows.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and data visualization best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms and technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining comprehensive BI solutions.
• Highly skilled in creating interactive dashboards and reports.
• Strong capability in data analysis and extracting actionable insights.
• Deep understanding of data governance and data security principles.
• Experience in stakeholder management and requirements gathering.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities, effective time management, adaptability, and proactivity.
