Electrician

Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Systems:

  • Wiring and Cabling: Installing and maintaining electrical wiring, outlets, switches, and lighting systems in the market premises.
  • Equipment Installation: Setting up electrical equipment such as refrigeration units, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and other appliances.
  • Lighting: Ensuring that the market is well-lit by maintaining and repairing indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures.

Repair and Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnostic Tests: Conducting tests to diagnose electrical issues and malfunctions.
  • Repair Work: Repairing faulty wiring, circuits, and electrical components to ensure the smooth operation of all systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying problems in electrical systems and recommending solutions to prevent future breakdowns.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Routine Inspections: Regularly inspecting electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.
  • Maintenance Schedules: Developing and following maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the life of electrical systems.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhering to Codes: Ensuring that all electrical installations and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Safety Protocols: Following safety protocols to protect themselves and others from electrical hazards.
  • Documentation: Maintaining records of inspections, repairs, and installations for compliance and safety audits.

Emergency Response:

  • On-Call Duties: Being available for emergency repairs, especially in the event of power outages or equipment failures.
  • Quick Response: Quickly addressing urgent electrical issues to minimize disruption to market operations.

Coordination with Other Departments:

  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with other maintenance staff, store managers, and external contractors to coordinate electrical work.
  • Project Planning: Assisting in planning and executing large electrical projects, such as store renovations or new store openings.

Energy Efficiency:

  • Energy Audits: Conducting energy audits to identify areas where the market can reduce energy consumption.
  • Implementation of Energy-Saving Measures: Installing energy-efficient lighting, equipment, and systems to reduce operational costs.

Inventory Management:

  • Spare Parts: Keeping track of electrical supplies and ordering necessary parts to ensure that repairs and maintenance can be carried out without delays.
  • Tool Management: Managing and maintaining electrical tools and equipment.

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Technical Education: Completion of a technical school or vocational program in electrical technology, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical work, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting. Experience working with specific systems relevant to the market chain, such as HVAC, refrigeration, or lighting systems, may be required.
